Dean Freight is wholly New Zealand owned and operated International Freight Company since its inception in the early 1980’s. We specialise in both Freight Forwarding and Customs Brokerage.  Our Company contains skilled professionals who represent both importers and exporters in the Customs Clearance and Freight Forwarding Industry.

In 2002 a new branch was established in Tauranga servicing the greater Bay of Plenty region.

Dean Freight has been carefully structured to provide our clients with a complete solution to the management of their international freight needs.  We work hard at getting the structure of your freight management system working well first, and then we address the 'systems' to get the benefits flowing through to you quickly.

The Team

Stuart Smith Managing Director Stuart is a licensed customs broker and has been managing Dean Freight since its inception in 1980. In 1995, he purchased the company and led its growth to become a market leader for the greater Waikato and Bay of Plenty region.	Shaun Smith General Manager Shaun has moved into the General Manager Position.  He will be managing daily operations while also assisting with our exports and quotations, Shaun has also completed the required NZ Customs Tariff courses, enabling him to complete and sign customs entries.	Scott Stowers Customs Broker Scott is our head Customs Broker here at Dean Freight.  With a vast knowledge of the industry Scott will be working hard to ensure the Customs Brokerage runs smootly to ensure your goods are cleared in a timely matter
Carlee Hollard Accounts & Customs Broker Carlee is the Accounts personal for Dean Freight. She brings many years of accounting experience to the team and will be happy to assist with any of your accounts queries. Carlee has also completed the required NZ Customs Tariff courses, enabling her to complete and sign customs entries.	Josh Lewis Sales Manager Josh is our Sales Manager.  He brings his domestic movement knowledge into the International Freight Forwarding scene.  Josh will be driving business sales and marketing while also continuing to manage the existing client base.	Jan Thorpe Tauranga Operations Jan controls the imports and exports for the greater Bay of Plenty, which includes customer service, freight bookings, liaising with off shore agents, seafreight and airfreight service providers, order follow ups, transport, quotes, and invoicing.
Zane Atkins Import Operations Zane is our import co-ordinator and will take all the hard work away from you by becoming the liaison between overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines and your suppliers. Providing you with information on your shipments in the air or on the water.	Helen Wellwood Export Operations Helen is the newest member to the Dean Freight team. Helen has taken over the majority of our export operations and with previous experience she has a vast knowledge in the industry.	Megan Scott Deliveries Coordinator Megan is our new entry to the International Freight industry she has come onboard to look after our freight deliveries and manage our warehouse and road logistics.
